
Mike Collins
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Collins is a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years of experience leading finance organizations across retail, media, manufacturing, and industrial businesses, with significant expertise in FP&A, capital markets, operational transformation, and cash flow management. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Bain Capital, where he works with portfolio companies to improve finance operations, particularly around FP&A and liquidity management.
Prior to Bain Capital, Mr. Collins served as Chief Financial Officer of Save-A-Lot, where he led the Finance, IT, and Real Estate functions for the $5 billion grocery retailer and played a key role in the company’s $1.365 billion sale transaction, including leading financing efforts across a $740 million Term Loan B and $250 million ABL facility. Before Save-A-Lot, he was CFO of NBTY, where he helped strengthen financial rigor and planning processes following the company’s acquisition by The Carlyle Group. During his tenure, he led multiple high-yield bond offerings and helped navigate significant profitability pressures while improving EBITDA performance.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Collins served as CFO of Sears Holdings Corporation, overseeing finance, procurement, and strategic pricing for the $45 billion retailer during the global financial crisis. He successfully refinanced the company’s $2.5 billion revolver, led significant cash generation and cost reduction initiatives, and executed a successful $1 billion high-yield debt offering. He also held senior leadership roles at NBC Universal and General Electric, where he led large-scale FP&A, operational improvement, M&A, and international finance initiatives across the U.S. and Europe. His experience at GE included CFO and finance leadership roles spanning Spain, the Netherlands, and global business units with multi-billion-dollar operations.
Mr. Collins began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as an Audit Manager. He earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude, and is a Certified Public Accountant
