
Seyi Babajide

Mr. Seyi Babajide is an investment banking, private equity and corporate finance professional with experience across infrastructure, energy, healthcare, consumer, and industrial sectors, with expertise in M&A advisory, capital raising, financial modelling, LBO, project finance, and transaction execution. He has advised on complex financing and investment transactions across Nigeria, broader emerging markets, and developed markets, supporting both private and public sector clients through transaction origination, execution, and investor engagement.
Most recently, Mr. Babajide served as Team Lead, Non-Financial Services within the Investment Banking Division of CardinalStone Partners Limited, where he managed end-to-end M&A and capital raising transactions, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence coordination, investor engagement, transaction structuring, and regulatory processes. He also supported structured finance transactions involving private notes, bridge financing, and other debt instruments, while advising clients on alternative financing structures, including syndicated lending, DFI funding, and equity raises. During his tenure, he advised on several landmark transactions, including the acquisition of a Nigerian natural gas infrastructure distributor alongside AFC, commercial bank acquisitions across West Africa, the delisting of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc from the NGX and subsequent NASD listing, and the fundraising and divestment process for i Fitness. He also worked on major capital markets transactions, including equity raises for tier -1 banks in Nigeria, bond issuances for Geregu Power Plc and Presco Plc, and Dangote Cement Plc’s commercial paper programme.
Prior to CardinalStone, Mr Babajide worked at Feddo Integrated Services Limited as a Corporate Finance and Strategy Analyst within the Subsea and Pipeline Division, where he supported capital raising initiatives, business development efforts, and operational improvement projects within the oil and gas sector. Earlier in his career, he served as an analyst at Chevron Nigeria Limited, where he supported budgeting processes, financial analysis, and operational approvals, contributing to cost optimisation initiatives for the Company.
Mr. Babajide earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, graduating in the top 2% of his class with Second Class Honours (Upper Division), and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Lagos. He has also completed professional development programmes in financial modelling, renewable energy, project management, and finance analytics.
